How Communication Changed My Life (And Why I Started Writing About It)

By Yuvraj Singh | Yuvraj Journal

Introduction: Why I Started Writing

Hey, I’m Yuvraj, and I share my stories and learnings on Yuvraj Journal—from business and AI to life experiences. I started writing not just to share information, but to improve myself.

With the rise of AI, I noticed how content writing is becoming less human and more automated. So, I decided to write from a place AI can't reach—real, raw human experience.

The Truth: I Was Never Good at Communication

Let me be honest—I've never been good at communication. I’m still learning.

I’m an introvert by nature. In a group setting, I rarely speak up. I feel more comfortable talking with just 2-3 people. I remember during my 11th or 12th grade, I once sat with a group of classmates. I had things to say, but fear held me back—fear of being judged, of not sounding right.
People would ask, “Yuvraj, why don’t you speak? Is something wrong?”
And I would reply, “I’m listening.”

The truth is, even though I understood everything, I didn’t know how to express it. I couldn’t find the right words. And that inability stayed with me—not just in school, but in life and work too.

What Happens When I Try to Speak

When I try to explain something, I usually start with an example—but then lose track of how to connect everything or wrap it up.
Even when I explain my ideas to someone, I often end up demotivated. Either they dismiss it, or I start doubting myself. I fall into a loop of negative thoughts. And once I’m there, it’s hard to climb out.

Finding a Way Out: Why I Started YouTube and Blogging

To break that loop, I started creating content—YouTube videos and blogs. Not for fame or followers, but to express myself, sharpen my thoughts, and regain confidence.
Of course, there were setbacks. People’s criticism sometimes lowered my motivation. But I kept reminding myself: If you’ve made a decision, stick to it. Follow the path. Mistakes will happen. Just don’t stop walking.

Learning from Others: Podcasts, Books, and Real Stories

To grow, I began watching podcasts, interviews, and videos where people shared how they escaped the “matrix” of self-doubt and confusion.
They inspired me, but only for a while. I realized the motivation faded quickly unless I acted on it consistently.

The School Years: A False Sense of Success

I want to be honest about my academics too. After 8th grade, I stopped taking studies seriously.
In school, I went to tuition classes where teachers would give us the exact questions for the next day's exams. That continued through 10th and even 11th. We used to shamelessly ask teachers, “What’s coming in tomorrow’s test?”
And because most questions came from the school, we scored well. But that wasn’t real learning.

Choosing the Wrong Path (Then Finding Meaning in It)

When it came time to choose a college course, I thought about BCA or BBA. But in my confusion, I chose hotel management.
Later, I realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. I told my mom, and she said something that stayed with me:

“People often don’t understand why they’re doing something. But later, they see its importance.”

Over time, I saw the business potential in hospitality. In fact, many people around me started thinking about opening a hotel someday.

Where I Am Today: Building Something with Belief

Today, I’m working on building a platform for the granite and natural stone industry. I’m combining everything I’ve learned—from my hotel background to my content journey—to create something meaningful.

It’s not perfect. I’m still growing. But now, I speak a little more confidently, write with more clarity, and most importantly—I keep going, even when the loop tries to pull me back.

Final Thoughts: Communication Is a Skill, Not a Gift

If you’re someone who struggles with communication, I want to tell you: You’re not alone. You don’t need to be loud to be impactful.
Writing, speaking, and explaining yourself can be learned—step by step, mistake by mistake.

I’m still learning.
And that’s okay.
